Mamata Banerjee announces safe passage for Bengal evacuees from Israel under Operation Ajay

In an effort to ensure the safe return of Indian citizens, including 53 from West Bengal, who were evacuated from Israel due to the escalating conflict, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced comprehensive support for their journey back home. As part of Operation Ajay, launched by the Indian government, the Ministry of External Affairs recently chartered a plane to bring 212 Indian citizens from Israel to New Delhi.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has affirmed her commitment to providing essential government assistance to evacuees from Bengal at no cost. The state government will arrange railway tickets for their travel to Bengal and offer complimentary transit accommodation at Banga Bhawan in Delhi, along with free local transport. To facilitate this process, control rooms have been established in both Delhi and Kolkata. Mamata Banerjee's announcement comes as the Indian government actively engages in Operation Ajay, ensuring the safe return of its citizens from Israel amid the ongoing conflict.
